The Musée du Louvre is located in Paris, France and the museum is housed in the Louvre Palace, originally built as the Louvre castle in the late 12th to 13th century under Philip II. Remnants of the fortress are visible in the basement of the museum.
Regular Hours
Monday: 9.00 - 18.00
Tuesday: Closed.
Wednesday: 9.00 - 21.45
Thursday: 9.00 - 18.00
Friday: 9.00 - 21.45
Saturday: 9.00 - 18.00
Sunday: 9.00 - 18.00
On the first Saturday of each month, the museum is also open from 18.00 to 21.45 and admission is free for all visitors (booking required for activities in the Richelieu wing).
Rooms begin closing at 17.30 and at 21.30 on night openings.
