Use Rome's public transportation system to travel around the city to various famous sites using the bus and subway system.

Airport to Rome

Majority of international travelers will arrive to Fiumicino (FCO) airport. Trying to find the Leonardo Express train to Roma Termini from Fiumicino can be a little confusing your first time. After leaving the baggage claim start looking for the train signs to lead you towards the airport train station. Follow the train signs leading you out of your terminal to walk over a bridge exiting the airport. It's a little walk depending on your terminal. Go to the Trenitalia ticketing office or Trenitalia kiosk and purchase your ticket for the Leonardo Express. If you are connecting to another city from Roma Termini you can also purchase that ticket at this time as well. After purchasing the ticket, validate the ticket, and enter the train area. Make sure to get on the correct train that says "Leonardo Express". It's about a 30 minute non-stop ride to Roma Termini.
