Old Nice

Old Nice lies just below Castle Hill bordering the Promenade des Anglais and the Paillon River. Take a stroll along cobblestone winding narrow streets full of shops, restaurants and small apartments. Locals gather at Nice's main marketplace square on Cours Saleya, lined with vendors selling food, flowers and everyday items. Every Monday there is a flea market here. Visitors should taste the local food, Socca - a thin pancake made from chickpea flour, baked in a wood-fired oven.
